Before completing your first real application, review any areas from the Application Training where you still have questions.
You are not expected to have the application memorized. Your mentor will be there to guide you through your first real application and help you learn the process correctly.
If you're unsure about something, ask β never guess on an application.

You've completed the application training and practice applications. Now it's time to gain real application experience with your mentor beside you.
For your first real application, we strongly recommend choosing a friend or family member who is willing to support you by applying for a small policy.
Why? Because this gives you the opportunity to slow down, learn the application process hands-on, ask questions, and receive one-on-one coaching from your mentor β without the pressure of learning it for the first time during a live appointment with a company lead.
Think of this as training with a real application.
Your mentor can walk beside you while you take the lead, helping you understand each step and correcting anything you need before you're completing applications independently in the field.
RECOMMENDED β Self-Code with Someone You Know
Choose a friend or family member who is willing to support you by becoming your first policyholder. Coordinate a time with them and your mentor to complete the application together.
π‘ Quick Note: Your first policy doesn't have to be a large one. Depending on the applicant and coverage available, it may be possible to start with a small policy that's only a few dollars per month. The goal here is the hands-on training experience β not the size of the policy.Β
OR β Get Coded in the Field
You can also get coded by writing your first policy from your company leads. In this case, your first real application may happen during one of your live appointments with your mentor.
Whichever path you choose, you will complete the application yourself with your mentor's guidance.
You are not expected to know everything yet. This is where you learn by doing.
Our recommendation: use the opportunity to self-code. It gives you dedicated one-on-one application training before you're doing it in front of a live lead.

Complete your first real application with your friend or family member and your mentor's guidance.
Once submitted, you've completed your first real application and coding milestone.
Keep moving forward β do not stop here.
Continue through the remaining Academy steps and into Step 10 β Launch Your Business, where you'll begin working company leads and completing live sits with your mentor.
Your first policy written from a company lead will complete your coding milestone.
Either way, Step 7 is complete. Keep moving forward.

Slow is smooth. Smooth becomes fast.
Your first few applications may take longer β that's okay. Focus on doing them correctly, not quickly.
Read every question, listen carefully, and never guess when you're unsure. Use your mentor while you're learning.
Every application builds confidence. Speed comes with experience.
